Education and Skills Development
Since 2010, CeRID has established and supported 20 primary schools in the Gedo region, providing access to primary education for more than 3,000 children. This initiative has laid a strong foundation for early childhood education, ensuring that children in the region have the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
Additionally, from 2014 to the present, CeRID has supported secondary education in Luuq, enabling over 1,000 students to complete their secondary school education. This support has been crucial in helping young adults transition from primary education to more advanced levels of learning, preparing them for higher education and various career paths.
CeRID's commitment to education does not stop at the formal school system. Since 2010, CeRID has been providing vocational and skills training to youth in the Gedo region, equipping them with market-oriented skills that are essential for employment and self-reliance. Every year, 350 youth graduate from the Sayid Mohamed Technical Education College in Beled-Hawa, and a total of 5,000 skilled youth have graduated from the college since its inception in 2010. These graduates are now contributing to the local economy and improving their communities with the skills they have acquired.
Through these comprehensive education and skills development initiatives, CeRID has expanded access to quality primary, secondary, and technical education, as well as improved the availability of essential social services in the Gedo region. The organization's main focus is to teach the younger generation to be better citizens, instilling in them the values of responsibility, community service, and civic engagement.
